The co-investigator of “Greek into Arabic”
Gerhard Endress is Emeritus Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany, and a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of Northrhine Guestphalia (Düsseldorf). His research interests include the intellectual history of mediaeval Islam, Arabic literature and especially the reception of Greek philosophy and science in the Arabic Islamic milieu.


Rüdiger Arnzen received a PhD in Oriental Studies at the University of Bochum (1994). He is specialized in Classical Arabic lexicography and linguistics, especially in the field of Graeco-Arabic philosophical and scientific terminology and translation techniques.


After his studies in the Universities of St.-Petersburg and Budapest, Jurij Nikolaevitch Arzhanov received his PhD in the Philosophy Department of the University of St.-Petersburg. He then moved to the Faculty of Theology of the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and to the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg.


Cleophea Ferrari is PhD of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. She teaches Medieval Arabic Philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
